Responsive, attachment-aware, and never “one size fits all”. No cry it out plans, just calm, practical guidance that respects your baby’s development and your family’s values
What is sleep coaching?
Baby and toddler sleep can feel completely overwhelming, especially when you’re exhausted, unsure what’s “normal,” and finding conflicting advice everywhere you look. Many parents come to me feeling lost in a sea of information about infant sleep, unsure what to try next and desperate for gentle, evidence‑based guidance they can trust.
This is why I chose to pursue reputable, up‑to‑date training in infant and child sleep, so that I can offer support grounded in current research, not outdated opinions or one‑size‑fits‑all advice.
I completed the Holistic Sleep Coaching Programme (HSCP) with BabyEm because it reflects everything I believe about supporting families. Developed and led by Lyndsey Hookway, a paediatric nurse, public health nurse, IBCLC, international speaker and author, it emphasises respect, responsiveness, and truly understanding each child as an individual. These values have always guided my work, and studying with Lyndsey felt like the perfect fit.
Holistic sleep coaching helps you understand why your baby sleeps the way they do. It brings together sleep biology, developmental stages, feeding, and emotional needs, offering gentle strategies that support healthier sleep while always protecting attachment and responsiveness. Together, we look at your family’s unique circumstances, your baby’s individual temperament, and your own instincts, because you know your child best.
My aim is to help you feel informed, confident, and supported as we work towards calmer nights and more restful days, in a way that feels right for your family.

How is sleep coaching different to sleep training?
How our babies sleep is a hot topic right from the day they are born. From the well-meaning family members, to the cashier at the supermarket, everyone seems to want to know how the baby is sleeping. “Is s/he a good baby?” being a common question that new parents get asked by all and sundry.
This question really translates to – how are they sleeping?
The reality is, young babies are not meant to sleep through the night. Their tiny stomachs and rapid rate of growth mean that they are supposed to wake frequently to feed, especially in the first three months – the all-important “fourth trimester”. What about once they reach three months, or even three years? Those are magic milestones where they will sleep, right? Unfortunately, their sleep biology is just not on the same page as our societal expectations.
Sleep is a developmental process, and much like other developmental processes, babies will all do this in their own time.
Does this mean that you just have to suffer months or years of disturbed nights?
No! This is where holistic sleep coaching can help!
My personal experiences with the depths of sleep deprivation
Please know, I have been where you are, I can wholeheartedly empathise with your exhaustion! At the age of ten months, our eldest son was waking every forty minutes every night. My husband was working away from home four nights a week, which left me struggling with almost zero sleep. I desperately needed some help, but the only solution that was presented to me by the one health professional that I could get in contact with, was to leave him to cry in order to “teach him how to self-settle”. They also told me that it was my fault that he was waking so frequently because I had fed him to sleep and been too responsive whenever he woke.
As a severely sleep-deprived new mum, I did not have the capacity to question this, so I went along with it, going against all my maternal instincts.
Between our eldest and middle child, I learnt that there are other, gentler ways to support our children’s sleep development. Learning this was empowering, but also broke my heart to know that I had left my eldest to cry alone unnecessarily. Something that I find hard to think about even to this day.
This is why I have trained rigorously in sleep coaching. I want to use my decades of midwifery and lactation experience, along with this internationally recognised sleep coaching training, to support you and your family.
I am here to provide nurturing and individualised support that empowers you to know that you don’t have to choose between just suffering the sleep deprivation or leaving your little one to cry alone.
We cannot make a baby or child sleep, but we can provide the right circumstances, opportunities, environment and support to help optimise this developmental process.
